I chose a wind pump from Mr. Floris as the most suitable solution to irrigate the orchard (50 trees), I assembled the pump, installed it myself (:-) with my father and I have only adequate technical skills at the cottage.
Of course, the procedure was explained to me by Mr. Floris. The wind pump works from a light breeze, it works perfectly, during the day it fills the 2000 l water tank. At night, in the morning it automatically opens the valve (bought in Lidl – timed valve on the battery) and automatically waters the trees from the tank.
Maintenance of the pump is minimal, lubricate before the season and winterise after the season, which in my case meant dismantling the various types of blades and closing the top valve and opening the valve in the sauna (with the understanding that if a strong wind blows and spins the propeller, the water will go into the lawn underground via the bottom valve in the sauna). Of course, all the blades can also be removed for the winter… So far I have nothing to complain about, the pump has been running trouble free since installation – August 2020. I highly recommend it to anyone considering it.
